It’s National School Bus Safety Week! School safety starts right at the bus stop, so let’s keep our kids safe with these easy tips: Arrive at the bus stop five minutes early. Stand five giant steps away from the curb. Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop, the door to open, and the driver to give the green light before stepping on board. Make sure you’re visible to the driver, and the driver can see you too! Let’s work together to make every bus ride a safe one. Share these tips with your children and keep everyone safe!

It’s National School Bus Safety Week! School is back in session, which means more kids are out and about waiting for their buses. Let’s keep everyone safe by being extra cautious around bus stops. If you see yellow lights on a school bus, that means it’s getting ready to stop—so slow down and stay alert! When those red lights and the stop-arm come out, it's time to STOP. Racing past puts our kids at risk. Let’s all do our part to keep them safe and sound.

Exciting times! This past week, our 5th grade students were given the opportunity to try all of the beginning instruments offered in Lakeshore's award winning band program. Mr. Grapis, 5th Grade Band Director, commented, "I love that 100% of students are able to walk away having successfully produced beautiful notes on at least one instrument. They are very approachable and engaged, and I look forward to working with them more!" Students interested in 5th Grade Band and one adult family member should plan on attending the 5th Grade Band Family Instrument Information Night on October 15th in the High School Cafeteria at 7PM.
