The Lakeshore High School Automotive Program has achieved a significant milestone, earning national accreditation from the ASE Education Foundation. This prestigious recognition underscores the program’s commitment to excellence in Maintenance and Light Repair, solidifying its reputation as a leader in automotive education.

Michael Coley, President of the ASE Education Foundation, lauded the program's accomplishment. “This is great news for automotive-minded young people and their parents. Lakeshore’s graduates will be employable entry-level technicians, benefiting both the workforce and the motoring public.”

To earn this accreditation, the program underwent a comprehensive evaluation against industry standards, assessing areas such as instruction quality, facilities, and equipment. The accreditation assures students and their families that the program meets or exceeds nationally accepted benchmarks.

Automotive Instructor Doug Haygood expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “We’ve worked hard to meet the industry’s rigorous standards, and now our students can confidently pursue their passion with a quality education.”

The recognition marks a major step forward for Lakeshore High School’s efforts to prepare students for careers in the automotive industry. It reflects a strong partnership between education and industry leaders, ensuring graduates are equipped with the skills needed to succeed.

Congratulations to the Lakeshore High School Automotive Program team and students on this outstanding achievement!
